Enter Program I

The first thing to do, is make a switching matrix. For each day of the week, you define times on which temperature changes need to take effect. Below is my matrix. The blank lines are there for better readabillity.

Seq nr Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun Temp
1 00:30 00:30 00:30 00:30 00:30     15°
2           01:30 01:30 15°
3
4 07:00 07:00 07:00 07:00 07:00     19,4°
5 08:20 08:20 08:20 08:20 08:20     15°
6
7           09:15 09:15 19,4°
8
9     14:00         19,4°
10 16:00 16:00   16:00 16:00     19,4°
11
12 19:00 19:00 19:00 19:00 19:00 19:00 19:00 20°
13

The main trick here is: CHOOSE a time and PICK a temperature from the list of comfort classes. The list of comfort classes (see above) was made with half a degree intervals so it is sufficient. And you can redefine the list of Comfort Classes at any moment.

The table contains the temperatue VALUES, whereas we need the Comfort classes. The table below contains these, plus the switching times. These times are made in accordance with the calendar classes of the C-20: Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun, Mon-Sun, Single.

Calendar Class Time Comfort Class
Mon-Fri 00:30 ECO
Sat-Sun 01:30 ECO
Mon-Fri 07:00 Temp-3
Mon-Fri 08:20 Temp-3
Sat-Sun 09:15 Temp-3
Single Wed 14:00 Temp-3
Mon-Fri 16:00 Temp-3
Mon-Sun 19:00 Temp-4

Entering the data

Data are entered in a sequence. The sequence is described in the manual. In short it boils down to:

  1. Turn the dial to 'Menu'
  2. Press UP arrow until you are at 'Program 1'
  3. Choose 'New point' and press 'OK'
  4. Press UP arrow to select the Calendar class and press 'OK'
  5. Enter the hour and minutes
  6. Press UP arrow to select the Comfort Class
  7. Repeat steps 3, 4, 5, 6 until all data is entered
  8. Turn the dial to 'Program 1'
In case for the Wednesday, you may delete the Thermopoint for 16:00, but it is not necessary.
This ought to do the trick. There are still some strange effects, but these may be caused by overstressed expectations. Changing the temperature set point by 0.4° may seem feasible, but in a house it means nothing. I removed the 19:00 value from the program. I need some time to evaluate the machine.
